Travelling with friends to Crete

The decision to travel alone or with friends will be based on your current situation, individual preferences, expectations  and the reasons for travelling in the first place. Your preference may change over time; at different stages of your life you might choose to travel with friends, a boyfriend or girlfriend, or just take trips by yourself. Each time is different, but every time is just as fun!
If you are travelling with a companion it's important to determine what kind of trip you want, and make sure you have similar expectations. Consider if the person you plan to travel with has the same interests as you and is travelling for similar reasons. A lot will depend on where you want to go. Make sure you both want to visit the same destinations and do the same things - it's not going to be a fun trip if you want to explore the local culture and your friend's priority is to top up their tan on a beach. Think about the type of activities that really interest you and make sure that you, and any friends you travel with, are on the same page.
Travelling with someone you know is a very easy way to test your friendship. Whether you hardly know someone or think you'll be best friends for life, travelling disasters mean you will quickly find out a lot about another person through the way they react. Even the boring everyday parts of travelling will reveal a new side to their personality.
I personally believe that travelling with your friends is the best way to travel! Whether this means backpacking round the world for a year, or just taking a weekend trip to a different city, I highly recommend the experience. However, there are both advantages and disadvantages.
The advantages, or upsides, of travelling with friends are quite obvious. You are guaranteed good company with someone you know you get along well with. If things go wrong, you know someone else will be there with you to help you get through it. Most people come back from travelling much closer to each other than they were before. It's also fun to create special and unique memories with someone close to you – it's a shame to spend some of the best moments of your life with complete strangers! One of the major advantages is that if you know the person you plan a trip with, you know what to expect from them – you know if they're a morning person or like to sleep late, whether they enjoy sightseeing or relaxing, and what their expectations are for the journey! However, there can be disadvantages.
BENEFITS OF TRAVELLING WITH FRIENDS
IT CAN BE SAFER
Although some people will look out for you more, when you are travelling solo, it also does make you a bit of a target. With someone with you, you can keep tabs on each other and have someone to call, if anything bad happens. Having that connection in a strange country is really useful.
A LOT OF FUN
Travelling with others is just fun. You can laugh and cry together. It often also strengthens the bonds between friends, as they go through life-changing experiences together. There’s nothing better than seeing some stunning sights in another country, other than sharing the same experience with someone that you love.
SPLITTING COSTS
It’s often far cheaper to travel, if there is more than one of you. For example, you can hire an economy  car from the airport, with a company like Okay rent a car ,cheap carrental on Crete , and be driven straight to your hotel, before you fall asleep on the runway. Splitting costs makes choices like this entirely affordable, so keep that in mind.
TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE
When travelling abroad, you’ll run into many problems. Although you should be able to solve them by yourself, having someone else with you can often mean that issues get resolved more efficiently and quickly. Put your heads together, to get yourself out of any sticky situations.
SHARING
Sharing responsibilities means that you can both use your strengths to your fullest. If your friend is an excellent driver, but you are a superb navigator, you are a match made in heaven. Know what you’re good at and share your holiday organisation fairly.
TEACHING
Teach each other new things. For example, you can try to pick up the country’s language more quickly, if you practice with each other. Learn from each other; it will help to kill some travelling time, and it will also make your holiday run more smoothly.
CREATING MEMORIES
Although creating memories with yourself is perfectly fine, it’s always nice to reflect on beautiful moments with your friends, who were also with you on your travels. It’s difficult to reminisce on the good times, if you set-off by yourself. Make memories with your favourite people instead!
COURAGE
Being with friends can give you the courage to do things that you wouldn’t normally try. Travelling can put you out of your comfort zone in so many ways. With your friends at your back, you are more likely to say yes to exciting opportunities and interesting new food. Help support each other to get the most out of your holiday, instead of letting it float by you, without taking any risks.

Overall, I certainly think that travelling with friends is a great idea.!!!!!
